Dwayne Dodd
Dwayne Dodd, and his former partner Jerry Rossman, founded Modern Classic Motors. In July 1979 they opened the doors to a small car lot on the corner of rand Avenueand 1st Street. A few years later Dwayne took over the business.
During these years Dwayne was not only the owner, but also a salesman. He then opened a second lot on the corner of 1st Street and North Avenue. His dream of selling great quality vehicles to the GrandValley, at affordable prices, started to expand. He opened a 3rd store in Montrose in 1995. |
| Long hours and dedication were paying off. In 1998 Dwayne saw an opportunity to expand even further. He built a new lot at 975 Independent Avenue. This new lot gave him the chance to better serve the people of the GrandValley. In October of 1998 he opened his doors to a brand new store, located off of Hwy 6 & 50 across from Sam's Club. This new store was not only spacious and professional, but offered him the opportunity to expand his inventory of vehicles even more. That same year Dwayne made his daughter Trish Bobbitt, a partner in the company, and passed the day-to-day aspects of the business on to her. He has since passed the reins over to her completely and stays active in the company with his involvement in the NIADA. |

Trish Bobbitt
Having grown up in the automotive business, Trish is very comfortable with all aspects of managing a prominent car dealership. She was raised in the Grand Valley and graduated from Fruita Monument High School in 1982. Ten years later she told her dad that she wanted to get into the car business.
Believing that people need to prove themselves in this world and realizing how important it is to have a full understanding of the business, Dwayne suggested she start in a new car franchise. After making her mark in sales, her ambition drove her to excel in learning everything about the business. |
Eventually Trish took a job in the finance department and mastered the difficult, but vital role, finance plays in any dealership. She was offered the new car sales manager position in 1995. Along with her resume, her skills continued to grow. She had many wonderful ideas of things she would like to see happen.
Trish and her dad have always had a close relationship, and in 1998 Dwayne made her an offer to be a partner in the business & take over as General Manager of Modern Classic Motors Inc. After much consideration she accepted. She brought her ideas and much enthusiasm to her new position. With many of her ideas in place & the addition of the SUZUKI franchise, business is thriving. Customers are happy. The sales force and inventory have trippled, due to the increasing demand for the level of service offered. Trish is constantly keeping up with the times and implementing new ideas to the benefit of the customers. Like the MCM advantage package & 30 day warranty on pre-owned vehicles.
Trish recently attended a class at the Florida Campus of Northwood University. This class was designed and taught by the Campus Dean. It allowed her to become the only Certified Master Dealer in the State of Colorado. This national program requires a dealership to meet essential standards. They include: integrity, quality, and other important values of a used car dealership. She accepted an invitation to sit on the board of the Colorado Independent Auto Dealers Association, a role where she can see that the needs of the Grand Valley auto market are always taken into consideration. Trish still consults with Dwayne on may important issues of the business, always valuing his opinion and vision where the future of Modern Classic Motors Inc. is concerned. She has truly carried on the tradition of why it's "The Most Fun You'll Have Buying a Car". |
